Be Kind

Be Kind

“I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You’ll never—I promise—regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we’re at our worst. Our Father is kind; you be kind.”

Luke‬ ‭6:35-36‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Being kind is not always easy. In fact, oftentimes it is down right difficult. However, it is what we are called to do.

Why is being kind so hard sometimes? We certainly want others to be kind to us, yet we are not always kind to others. This is why we must give without expectation.

It should not matter who the person is in our life, enemy or family. We are each a child of God. That must be enough to compel us to kindness.

When we struggle to be kind, let us think about our Father and His kindness towards us. That even at our worst He extends kindness and love. It is the least we can do for our fellow brothers and sisters.

Considerations for your planner:

  • Write down the ways kindest can be difficult for you. Then offer these things up to God in prayer.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Lord, Help is to see Your child in every person we encounter. Help us to extend kindness no matter what we receive in return. We want to be generous and gracious to those around us the way You are with us. Let us not judge one another based on our worst. Rather help us to be Your hands and feet through the worst. Amen.
