Do we know how much God loves us? His love for us surpasses all our understanding. It is because of His great love for us that we are saved. His mercy for us, His children, is why He sent His only son to die. His sacrifice is what covers us and gives us new life. He is the example of how we are to love one another in our new found life. Since our old life is dead we should want to look to Him to empower us to be as He is, full of mercy and grace. Through our remembrance of what He has done for us we have access to this new life every day. It is a conscious choice we must make. We can seek Him and His ways, because by Him we are strengthened to do so or we can succumb to culture and the ways of the world and live in a life that steals from us.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:4-5 NIV
Considerations for your planner:
- What does your new life mean to you? Do you choose this life each day? Write down what it means and how you choose it.
A Prayer for Our Community:
Father God, Thank You for loving us so well. Your mercy and grace is what we want to remember and be filled with every day. We pray that we can know and fully grasp the freedom of our new life so that we chase after You and not the world. Please fill us up with Your power and lead us through all that we do. We trust in You, because we believe in what You have done for us. Amen.
