Love Informs Our Trust

Love Informs Our Trust

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. We love because he first loved us.

1 John 4:18-19 NIV

Are we living in love? Love is the place we are called to be above all things. When we live in love we are able to live without fear.

The world wants to keep us distracted from living in the space and place of love. When we lead with love we see the good in all things. Love can shape our lens so that fear is driven out of our lives.

When we fear we have an opportunity to recognize our fear and lean more into love. Leaning into love happens more easily when we remember who loves us most. God loves us more than we can ever put into words.

He is a good father. He, just like any good parent, does not want to punish us. This is why He is imploring us to live in love. It is through His love that we can trust the path He has us on. We do not need to fear any part of our journey.

Considerations for your planner:

  • Write out when you notice fear in your life. Are you able to take these times as opportunities to draw closer to God and feel His love so that in turn you can give love?

A Prayer for Our Community:

God, Please help us to recognize our fears. We want to see them so that we can turn to love above our fear. We do not want fear to drive our lives. Let our fear be something that informs our transformation to help us keep our focus on You. We can keep our focus on You when we know and feel Your love. Make love perfect in us through our closeness to You. Amen.
