But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
God makes everything easier. When things are easier they are more likely to sustain. If God makes things easier, and things are more easily sustained with Him, why wouldn’t we do everything in our power to be with Him always? This scripture can be our reminder of what is provided to us for our diligent efforts of immersing ourselves in God daily. The fruits are many and they are what we all want in this life. The only thing that can keep us from them is ourselves. We get in our own way when we immerse ourselves in the world and it’s ways. Let’s let God do the sustaining for us by living His way.
Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues. Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret? Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. Love Is Indispensable. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.
1 Corinthians 12:27-31 NIV
God has a place for each of us to serve and carry out His plans. Our identity cannot be found in the world. Trying to find it here is futile. We will become preoccupied by things not meant for us. He has gifted us each with a unique talent and calling. However, we cannot be sure of what our talent is and how to use it without His guidance. Going to Him and learning from Him allows us to go out into the world and do as He has asked. Thus, taking up our part in what He has planned. In this way we do not waste time in anything. Our time and energy can be marshalled and directed wisely. With God nothing is forced. Let us remember this when we set our agendas and plans. We should always vector check with God, because His ways come with ease.
A Story of Being Sustained by God:
I have struggled with fear since childhood, but Christ has shown me time and time again how fear is not of Him! I stand strong now knowing I am a child of God! He goes before me, He walks with me and I am able to stand strong knowing I am His!
