Being a Child is Our Right

Being a Child is Our Right

When we receive Christ we are made children of God. What a right to have. To become a child again.

Being a child means that we do not have to worry. It means that we are taken care of and provided for. Being a child is a right that has to be given.

This is why anticipation is so important. If we are not anticipating His return within our lives, we are not accepting His will. When we do not accept His will for our lives we are living for the world.

Once we learn to stay firmly planted in anticipation of Him we are able to fully accept our rights as His children. Having full acceptance of our rights as children reframes our focus and places our expectations away from the world, but on the eternal. We are able to place our trust in God for all our needs, as a child does their parents.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—

John 1:12 NIV

A Prayer for Our Community:

Heavenly Father, Be with us today as we seek You first and always. Help us to place our attention on Your return in our lives. We want to have a childlike perspective so that we stop living independently from You. Help us to live fully into our rights by receiving You. Let this be a daily reminder that we are Yours. Amen.
