Desiring a Quiet Life

Desiring a Quiet Life

God has called us to live a holy life (1 Thessalonians 4:7). When we reject this instruction we do not reject human beings, rather we reject God (1 Thessalonians 4:8). He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us in all we do. This is how we can fulfill our life’s ambition. Turning inward to the Spirit that dwells within us is how we can forge forward, minding our own business and working with our hands. He will guide all our days and help us to lead a quiet life. A life filled with peace and tranquility. A life free of drama and angst. God’s intention for us is to gain the respect of others and not depend on anyone (1 Thessalonians 4:12). Through our belief that Jesus died and rose again, we believe that God will bring those of us that dwell in Him to Him. Holding fast to this belief will give us the quiet life we seek.

and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you.

1 Thessalonians 4:11 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • How are you cultivating a quiet life today? Write down the ways to live out a quiet life.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Heavenly Father, we pray that You would intercede in each of our days. We pray that Your thoughts would become our thoughts and that we would be elevated to Your ways of living. We want quietness to fill our days as we know we are focusing on You and doing Your work. Help us to seek out what You have for us by staying firmly planted in our business and working with our own hands. In Your precious name we pray. Amen.
