He’s Thought of Everything

He’s Thought of Everything

It is so important that we realize we cannot do life on our own. We need His help and guidance. When we allow Him to be in our lives He keeps us on a straight path and on the road He has set for us. This requires an incredible amount of dependence on Him. This is what can be difficult. The world has taught us that independence and being self reliant is the way. We have learned that our lives are completely our responsibility and thus making all the plans lies on our shoulders. This couldn’t be further from the truth. God wants us to rely on Him for all our plans. We can do no wrong when we follow Him and all His ways. Going out on our own without Him is a futile way to go. We can trust all will be provided for when we are under His guidance.

they do no wrong but follow his ways.

Psalm 119:3 NIV

Our obedience to God is what brings our plans into full focus. He has laid out the right way for us to live and carry on in our daily lives. He expects us to live in the ways He has directed. In our obedience we can be certain that His plan will unfold in due time in our lives. However, it is difficult to obey His ways when we do not know them. We only know them when we draw close to Him and seek to know the ways He wants us to live. Through knowing Him, seeking Him and obeying Him we can have complete certainty that the plans for our lives are unfolding exactly as they should.

You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed.

Psalm 119:4 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • Are you trying to take on creating all the plans for your life? Write down what it would mean to you to know you don’t have to take on this responsibility alone.
  • Do you know the ways in which God has called us to live? Take this time to search your bible for a scripture that instructs your life and write it down.

A Story of Following God:

I have a journal that I try to write in everyday. I have put several of your weekly devotionals in my journal. Today your devotional hit my life right on the head. I am trying to find a place to live with my husband and son. I have been having a lot of problems even finding some place that we can afford and enjoy our life again.

I have been having problems with finances and living somewhere nice and where I am wanted. I lived the past several years taking care of my mom, who had Alzheimer’s, and when she died I had to make a move. I left my plans in GOD’s hands then and we had somewhere to go. Things changed again and now we are having trouble finding a place to live where I am welcomed and can do what I want when I want.

Then I read what you wrote today and remembered that I forgot to give this decision to GOD and watch what GOD has planned for me. So my husband and I have given this problem over to Him and we will wait to see what doors open for us. Thank you for reminding me to lean on Him and not on myself.
