Let Joy Be Our Focus

Let Joy Be Our Focus

Why celebrate Advent?

  • Taking the time to reflect, and be with God in the time can fortify our confidence in God’s promises for us.

Did you know?

  • Advent has two parts. The first portion of the First Sunday of Advent until December 16 is preparation for the second coming of Christ. The second portion from December 17 to 24 directly prepares us for the commemoration of the first coming of Christ, Christmas.

A Message of Joy

Focusing on joy is such a gift. Taking this time to reflect, remember, and be joyful is an opportunity to be led by what God wants for us. He wants us to live in joy and peace. When we make joy a focus we can sing and praise loudly and allow the Holy Spirit to fill us. Let’s take this time to refocus and set our intention to seek joy. We can set the foundation for the coming year to, “go out in joy and be led forth in peace.”

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
