Obedience Gives Us Freedom

Obedience Gives Us Freedom

It is important to know what we fight with. Our lives do not conform to the ways of the world. We cannot think of fighting in terms of the world. It is through our obedience that we have the strongest power. It is divine power that “demolishes strongholds.” We do this by, “taking captive every thought.” Where our mind goes our body follows. This is why we must make all our thoughts obedient to Christ. When we are able to achieve this we are able to live free from the ways of the world. We no longer have to be subject to accepting the way the world goes about doing things. Instead we can sense God moving through us and providing our strength and guidance for how to move through every circumstance we encounter. This is what freedom looks like.

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • Do you take captive every thought that is not of God? Write down your thoughts and see what needs to be turned over to Him.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Father, We want to know what true freedom is. Help us to learn Your ways and thus know what it means to be free. We know that the world wishes to make us slaves to it’s ways, but we know there is a better way. Give us the strength to demolish strongholds by helping us take captive every thought and turn it over to Jesus. In Your precious name we pray. Amen.
