Seek Him Above All Else

Seek Him Above All Else

Seeking Him first in everything we do puts the right order of all things. How often are we overwhelmed by the demands of our lives? Noticing what we are putting first can help us with the overwhelm.

When He is first the scripture says, “all these things will be given to you.” It is wonderful when we are able to go about our days filled with peace and order. This can only happen when we are seeking Him.

Seeking Him amidst the distractions of the world can seem difficult. This is why He instructs us to not worry about tomorrow, but rather to, “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” (Matthew 6:34 MSG)

We can trust in Him to provide, and we can make seeking Him our habit. In this way we must take each moment as it comes. Seeking Him every chance we get will help us to maintain our peace and grow our patience.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:33-34 NIV
