Patience comes in many forms. Being slow to anger is one of them. This can be a difficult attribute to have and grow.
Anger is one of those emotions that can run away with us. We have to stay conscious of it so that we can exercise the self control to be slow to move into it. It is this self control that gives us deep understanding.
When we are quick-tempered we are succumbing to the way the world operates. However, we were never meant to muster this self control with our own will power. This would be futile.
The Holy Spirit is right alongside us, ready to help at the moment we turn to Him and ask. Our deep understanding not only comes from self control, but from knowing where our self control comes from.
Slowness to anger makes for deep understanding; a quick-tempered person stockpiles stupidity.

Considerations for your planner:
- Can you remember the last time you got angry? What was your reaction? Write it down. Remember this example as you become aware of your anger and invite the Holy Spirit into your circumstances.
A Prayer for Our Community:
Lord, Help us to be slow to anger. Give us the opportunities to grow our patience, so that we would be aware of our emotions. We want to turn to You in all things so that we are operating in Your ways and not the worlds. We will remember Your words to help us as we move through our days. Amen.
