What is it that we seek? Are we seeking to, “gaze on the beauty of the Lord?” In this one request we can never lack for something to pray about. Certainly we have needs and desires that we pray for, but there are many times that we have prayed for those things and then cannot think about what else to pray for. The answer is right here in scripture. We can pray to seek God all the time. In fact, we should do this often. When we pray to seek Him and dwell in His house we are moved to gratitude and praise without need. Seeking God in all the moments that we do not know what to pray for will keep fear, worry, and anxiety away. This one action is the key to living a peace filled life, that everything we do is permeated by Him.
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.
Psalm 27:4 NIV

A Prayer for Our Community:
Lord, Please help us to seek You. We want to feel Your presence and live in Your peace. We know that we can by seeking You. Help us to turn from our distractions and turn to You. We need You. We desire all the goodness You bring. We do not want to know You only when we are hurting. We want You to be present in our lives even when all is well. Help us to seek You more and better with each passing day. Amen.
