The Plan is Simple - Trust God

The Plan is Simple - Trust God

We are each uniquely made by our Father in our mother’s womb. (Psalm 139:13) Take a moment to just think about that. Now take another moment and really let that reality sink in. God took the time to carefully form each of us. He knit every aspect about us perfectly. It is the world that has decided to critique the way in which we were made; thus, leading to questioning His creation, purpose and plans. Oftentimes, we simply need a perspective shift to see what He wants and has for us. Taking our time to recognize and sit with the fact that He created each of us with purpose flips everything about the way the world processes purpose and direction on its head. We do not need to find anything. We simply need to lean on and trust the one that already knows. He has placed the purpose and direction of our lives on our hearts. We will not be stirred wrong when we follow that. It is our minds that can get caught up in the world’s way of doing things and then we start to question everything. Staying present is the best way we can continually tune into our hearts. Going to God with the questions we don’t know the answers to and then listening to our heart for direction.

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Psalm 139:16 NIV

We often stop each day to consider if we are where we are supposed to be. Maybe we do this more or less often depending on the circumstances of our lives, but we can hold strong in knowing that we are exactly where God wants us. This knowledge can give us the confidence that we are not moving too fast or too slow in the things meant for our lives. As long as we are with Him and trusting His guidance we are exactly where we are supposed to be. Even in instances when we are not incredibly close to Him, He is waiting patiently for us. Encouraging us in our circumstances to lean on Him and let Him help. We must take heart that He has prepared everything for us. The times we may feel lost or confused are when we have stopped trusting in Him above all else. This is when the world is creeping in and taking its hold of our minds. His grace saves us every time and our faith keeps us on the path. So let us stop each day to praise and state with confidence that we trust God and where we are.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 2:8-10 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • What is your reality? Write it down and check with God’s reality for you.
  • Do you take the time to thank God for where you are today? Take a moment to write down where you are and where you think you are supposed to be. Then reflect on where you are today.

A Story of Trust:

I have grown up in a bit of a role reversal. I have often been the parent to my parents. This life mostly arose because of my mother and fathers addictions. Their choices would incapacitate their abilities to make sound decisions. To make matters worse they would repeat their poor choices over and over again.

As a child, I often felt trapped in my circumstances. I did not know what to do or where to turn. Thankfully my parents had taken me to church a few times, so I had a baseline understanding of God. I did not know much about God, but I would spend many nights talking to Him. I didn’t know this was praying. I know He was guiding and protecting me.

As an adult now, I have learned how to talk to Him even more. The life I have walked and experiences I have had has paved the way to where I am now. I have come through resentment, anger and sadness and landed in gratitude, joy and peace. This has only been possible because of my continual trust in Him for the direction of my life and not my own.
