What Are We Putting Into Practice?

What is shaping our thoughts today? Have we stopped to consider how we are looking at the world we occupy? After all our thoughts shape our beliefs and our beliefs become our actions.

When God calls on us to place our focus on whatever is noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable, He is trying to help us frame our thoughts. Our thoughts are the first battle ground of the enemy.

We think 6.2K thoughts in a day on average. Of those 6.2K thoughts 80% are negative and 95% of those 80% are repeated. It literally takes 3 good thoughts to replace 1 negative thought.

With these kinds of odds it's no wonder our Father has instructed us to place our focus on the goodness around us. He wants us to be filled with His peace and love. He wants us to go out into the world and share His love. The reality is that we cannot do what He has asked unless we put into practice what He has instructed.

‭‭Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:8-9 NIV

  • Write down your thoughts throughout the day today. What have you been placing your focus on?

A Prayer for Our Community:

Lord, I want to do better. Help me step away from whatever is holding me away from You, God. Help me put my focus on You and not the evil things of this world, so I may start walking toward you every day. Amen.
