What to Seek First

What to Seek First

It is clear what we are to seek first. We are to seek His kingdom and His righteousness. His words will never mislead or misguide us. Rather they are clear on exactly what we need to do. Imagine what will happen when we do things God’s way. Life will become more easily managed. We will be able to move through our days in unforced rhythms. He never wanted our life to be difficult or trying. We wanted our lives filled with joy, peace, and ease. The way we achieve this is by seeking Him first. In everything we do there is nothing greater than this calling. Seeking God is our purpose while on this earth. We were designed for His glory. Seeking anything else is bound to lead to our demise and along the way fill our days with overwhelm, exhaustion, fear and sadness. Let us seek Him first and our lives will hum with the glory of His grace in all the things we do.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • What did you seek first today? Write it down. Use this as a reminder in the days to come.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Father, Thank You for creating us. We praise You for the breath we breathe. Each day is a gift. We want to acknowledge this every chance we get. Help us to rejoice in Your name, give thanks always and in this way pray continually. Your way is better than any other way. Help us to be reminded of this consistently so that we seek You first. Amen.
