Contentment is a Sign of Success

Contentment is a Sign of Success

What is contentment? Contentment is the quality or state of being content. To be content is to be satisfied. Are we satisfied with our circumstances each day?

This is the question we must ask ourselves as we pursue God and the things He has for us. The world would have us distracted by all the things that try to bring contentment. Yet never do.

Our consumption could be a distraction. We are continually seeking things to bring more comfort and peace as we seek to fill our time. God is calling us to be still and remain in His presence.

When we do this we are able to stand in full awareness of His provision. We must recognize that it is not the things of this world that bring contentment and fulfillment to us. God brings us all we need and He will grant us the desires of our hearts when we find contentment in Him. (Psalm 37:4)

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

1 Timothy 6:6-8 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • Where is your focus today? Is it on doing this or getting that? Take a moment to write all that you have by the grace of God. See if you can place your focus on the contentment of what has been provided.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Heavenly Father, We love You so much. Help us to show You and ourselves how much we love You. We pray to simply be. We will strive to not place our focus on anything but You. In this way we will trust that You will help us have and accomplish all that needs to be done. Thank You for Your patience with us. Help us to have patience for ourselves, so that we may have contentment in our lives. Amen.
