We are able to more easily stay the course when we do things God’s way. Staying the course amidst the world is like swimming against a current. We will experience being swept away every time.
God’s way is not the easier path in the eyes of the world. However, when we experience God’s way we receive gifts of sustainability that only make sense because of Him. Our minds are constantly transformed to see as He sees.
When we can see the world the way He sees the world we are able to develop a “willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.”
What an incredible gift to be able to marshal our energies wisely. How often do we say “there aren’t enough hours in the day” or “I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off”? God has a better way for us. He has a way we can sustain and do the good work He has for us.
“But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

Considerations for your planner:
- Are you running with the world or with God? Write down the ways you are doing life His way.
A Prayer for Our Community:
Heavenly Father, be with us as we unlearn the ways of the world. Help us to want to do things Your way. Let us write these words on our hearts. Remind us that Your way is meant to help us and not hurt us. We don’t have to keep up with the world. We need to tune into You. Amen.
