Why do we feel such a pull to provide for ourselves? Is it because the world has told us we have to? Maybe it is because it is all we know and unlearning is so difficult.
What God says is clear. If He gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers, which most are not even seen, don't we think He will attend to us and take pride in us? After all we are made in His image.
The hard part is continually becoming preoccupied with what we are “supposed” to be doing. We get consumed with comparison to others. We are bombarded by how to create comfort and perfection in our worlds. This leaves little room for Him to do.
We know God. We do not have to fuss over life and what the day will bring. We can relax because we know how God works. God provides when we obey. Let us become consumed with obeying in every moment that comes by being present to what is right in front of us.
“If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don’t you think he’ll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I’m trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.

Considerations for your planner:
- What are you fussing over today? What are you trying to provide for yourself that you can lift up in prayer? Write it down.
A Story From Our Community:
On February 28th our family experienced the loss of my husband’s boyhood home to fire. There wasn’t any loss of human life, but a renter’s pet was unable to be rescued. Several family antiques were lost and the renters lost everything since they made the choice not to get renter’s insurance.
The hand of God has been evident throughout this tragedy. Things like an untouched Bible being found under a completely burned box of books. Redeemable cash being found under a burned and melted purse. The community responded with gift cards, clothing, necessities for the baby and clothing and toys for the little boy who had just had his birthday 2 days before the fire.
God has proved his power and strength and love so much. I’m confident He will continue to do so until everything is settled again.
