Patience is hard. It can be even harder when we are focusing on the failings of others. However, this is exactly where God wants to mature us in the fruits of the Spirit.
He is calling us to bear with the failings of those around us. We are to surrender our desires so that we can be a blessing to others. In this way we are able to allow God to shine through us.
Oftentimes, we overlook the needs of others, because the concern for ourselves overtakes us. The world will validate this action. Unfortunately, doing things this way only keeps us away from the peace and the growth God wants for us.
When we are able to humble ourselves to bear the failings of the weak, we are made stronger through God. Let us look to God for the strength to turn away from pleasing ourselves, so that we can serve others better.
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves.
Romans 15:1 NIV
Considerations for your planner:
- Can you remember the last time you lost your patience? Write down the exact moment. Remember this and see if you can grow beyond that point the next time you are faced with that situation.
A Prayer for Our Community:
Lord, Be with us in everything we do. Help us to look to You to inform all our actions. We want to evolve beyond the weakness of our flesh and do all the work You have for us. We pray that each time our patience is short that we will remember this verse and our capacity will be grown. Amen.
