Prayer Requires Our Confidence

Prayer Requires Our Confidence

Having confidence in our prayers is paramount. We can only have confidence when we believe in the strength of our relationship. When we are worried in our praying or feel uncertain that we will be heard it is most likely that we have not been investing into our relationship with God. Having consistent conversation with God, just like with anyone else in our lives, is how we build our relationship. This is how we get to know others, by speaking to them and listening to them. The same is with God. We can build our confidence in what we ask of Him by making our relationship with Him priority in our lives. Then we will know that, “He hears us - whatever we ask - we know that we have what we asked of Him.”

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.

1 John 5:14 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • Do you seek God in all things? Write down the things you have asked His counsel in and then write down the things you have not sought out His counsel in.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Heavenly Father, We bring our prayers to You. All our earthly desires, wants and needs we lay at Your feet. Above all else we pray that we come to You daily and seek Your love and counsel for us. We know that in this we will find strength in our lives because we know You and trust You. Please God give us a heart that continually seeks You above all else in all of our days. Amen.
