What Do We Make Time For?

What Do We Make Time For?

The world can consume us with busyness. What a creative way the devil has made to distract us from the very thing we need. We need to pray. God created us to be in communion with Him always. When we are not with Him is when we will feel overwhelmed and completely out of sorts. We become what we make time for. We find what we seek. Our body goes where our mind takes it. So then does it not stand to reason that when we do not pray our whole world can feel haywire? We must allow our days to be consumed with prayer. Seeking His counsel in everything will keep us grounded and steady in this shaky world. When we take time for Him all is made right.

After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone

Matthew 14:23 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • What day are you busiest this week? Set a reminder to take 5-10 minutes to pray in the midst of that day.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Heavenly Father, Guide us to You. Help us to recognize when we become distracted by the world and not consumed by You. We want to stay in Your peace and comfort. We know we can only do this by seeking You. Give us a discerning heart to know how to sit in Your presence not only when we need it most, but when we do not need it. In this way our relationship with You will deepen and grow stronger. Amen.
