How to Love When it is Hard

How to Love When it is Hard

This is such incredible guidance to how we are to carry ourselves in our lives. Whether it be in relationships, business, or any situation of life.

We must lead with faith. In that faith we should add goodness. With goodness we can then add knowledge. To knowledge we must then add self control. To self control we must channel perseverance. To perseverance we must add godliness. To godliness we can channel mutual affection. Finally with mutual affection we can give love.

Notice how these things come one after the other. We can place our focus on each one of these attributes in this succession. They will help us to build a foundation that is unshakeable in the ways of Christ. This is how we love when it is difficult.

Possessing these qualities will keep us from being ineffective and unproductive in the work God has for us. The sign of success in the kingdom of God is obedience. Let us obey His words here and find success in all we do.

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
