Self Control Transforms Our Thinking

Self Control Transforms Our Thinking

The Spirit of God lives with us. The purpose of Christ leaving the Spirit with us was to give us access to His strength. We have access when we acknowledge and channel His power through knowing Him and being close.

With God’s power we will not be timid. Instead we will have the power to love and have self control in all our ways. The question is are we tapping into His power?

The world is incredibly distracting. There are many things that can consume our attention and steal our ability to love. This is why we need help with self discipline.

When we live life with the Spirit we cultivate a willingness to live in self control. We gain otherworldly strength to look beyond what the world is giving us. We have the power to see things in a transformative way.

For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.

2 Timothy 1:7 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • How do you reach out to the Spirit for self control in your circumstances? Write down the last time you lost your cool and how you could have reached out to and channeled the Spirit.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Lord, Help us to pray to You more often and with intention. The intention to have our minds transformed to the way You think. We want the Spirit to be in every aspect of our lives. In every situation we navigate. So that love is what the world sees from us. In this way we know the people around us will see You. Amen.
