We Are Called to Generosity

We Are Called to Generosity

Posted by Lauren Frazier on

God loves a cheerful giver. What an incredible place to live, in cheerful giving. God wants us to know how we should choose to live our lives. Of course, the choice is ours. Likewise, He is clear on what the outcome for each choice is. When we live generously He will bless us abundantly in all things, giving us what we need and we will abound in every good work. However, when we choose to give reluctantly or sparingly we will reap sparingly and want for the things we need. The lesson here is to trust in His ways and not the ways of the world. The world would have us believe that we need to give sparingly so that we store up and protect ourselves from want and need. God says give and He will take care of all that we need. Let us decide in our hearts to give and allow God to take care of us.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NIV

Considerations for your planner:

  • Are you generous with all you have? Write down the areas of your life you might struggle to be generous with.

A Prayer for Our Community:

Heavenly Father, thank You for providing for us. You hear our prayers and give us what we need and even what we want. You protect us and guide us. Please help us to live with a generous heart, so that we may bless others with the fortune You have bestowed onto us. Amen.
